Make-A-Wish Foundation® supporter Saputo Inc. and its Frigo® Cheese Heads® brand enhanced the wishes of 14 children whose biggest dream came true on August 16th when they visited the iCarly set at Nickelodeon Studios and met the show's star, Miranda Cosgrove. The wish day began for these kids and their families in Hollywood, CA, where they met up with representatives from Saputo Inc. and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Frigo® Cheese Heads® brand costume character met each wish kid and provided them with a goodie bag to start off their day. The wish kids and their families mingled and took pictures with the costume character as the excitement for their wish grew. En route to Nickelodeon Studios, the bus drivers treated the families to a tour of celebrated Southern California landmarks, including Rodeo Drive, the Kodak Theatre, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Hollywood sign.

At Nickelodeon Studios, the kids received VIP passes and toured the facilities, including the iCarly set. The kids explored all the show's primary shooting locations: Carly's bedroom, the loft, the elevator, the kitchen, the living room and the school. They also checked out two new swing sets that will be used in an upcoming episode. The kids especially enjoyed bouncing off the trampoline onto Carly's bed and discovering the random doors and hallways that lead to nowhere.

After checking out the set, the families traveled to a nearby elementary school where iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove was doing a network promo shoot. After a general Q&A session with all the wish kids and their families, Miranda met each wish kid individually – posing for pictures and signing autographs. Many of the kids were star-struck and at a loss for words. But Miranda's outgoing personality and excitement at being a celebrity wish granter made each wish kid feel like a close friend.

Newport Seafood Grill (http://www.newportseafoodgrill.com) and Newport Bay Restaurant (http://www.newportbay.com) recently rolled out a new shared menu that continues the tradition of quality seafood at reasonable prices for which both Oregon restaurants are renowned. And with no menu item over $20 - it delivers an unbelievable value!

To introduce the new menu in the greater Portland area, Newport Bay and Newport Seafood Grill will hold a one-day "Name Your Own Price" event on Wednesday, September 8. Guests who order their popular Alaskan Cod Fish and Chips can name the price they feel their meal was worth.

"The 'Name Your Price' event on September 8 is a way we can thank our guests for their support and introduce new guests to one of our most popular menu items. It's just the start of a series of value-priced menu offerings we'll introduce over the remainder of the year," said CEO Scott Smith.

In addition to the one-day "Name Your Price" event, Newport is incorporating fresh, limited-time, value-oriented meals to its menus, like the current "Build Your Own Surf & Turf." Just $9.95 until October 31st, diners can pair a thick, juicy sirloin with choice of garlic prawn stuffed with fresh garlic and herbs, seared scallops finished with bacon and citrus butter, or sole stuffed with mushrooms prepared with fresh herbs, shallots and white wine.

This streamlined approach will allow Newport to deliver the reliability of an established restaurant and offer the highest-quality food, like their popular fish and chips, at the absolute lowest possible prices.

Added Newport Brand Leader Chris Ideson, "We're excited about the changes we're making at Newport Bay Restaurant and Newport Seafood Grill. The one-day-only 'Name Your Price' event for our popular Alaskan Cod Fish and Chips gives guests the chance to come in, see what's new at Newport, and check out the new menu."

500 Western Washington Coke employees who went on strike last Monday have made an offer to return to work unconditionally in a good-will gesture that demonstrates their willingness to bargain a fair and equitable contract in good faith. Negotiations between the Washington Teamsters United and Coke are set to resume this Wednesday and Thursday, September 1 and 2.

"Over the last week, we have demonstrated to Coke the value of our professionalism and our labor," said Blaine Parks, a 32-year driver for Coke's production and distribution facility in Bellevue. "We have also sent a strong message to Coke that its employees expect that company take the collective bargaining process seriously."

Union representatives expect the 500 area Coke employees will resume normal operations Tuesday morning to catch up with the backlog created by last week's work stoppage.

"We are optimistic that Coke will return to negotiations prepared to bargain in good faith," said Tracey A. Thompson, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 117 and chief negotiator for Washington Teamsters United. "Issues like the health care for Coke employees and retirees are too important to our members and their families not to address in a straightforward and forthright manner."

The Union says it will continue to pursue the Unfair Labor Practice charges it brought against Coke before the National Labor Relations Board as well as the class-action ERISA lawsuit on behalf of Coke employees who had their health care benefits revoked by the company shortly after the work stoppage began last week.

Approximately 500 Coke employees in Western Washington went on strike on Monday, August 23, over charges of employee surveillance, intimidation and bad faith bargaining. Contract negotiations between the Union and Coke have been underway since April. The employees' contract expired on May 15, 2010.
